Building Information Modeling (BIM for short) networks the planning, execution and management of buildings in a digital 3D data model and promises more planning reliability, increased efficiency and cost savings.
With BIM, all relevant building data is digitally modeled, combined and recorded, thus modeling buildings in 3D from the very beginning. The result is an intelligent building data model - the so-called BIM model (digital twin). Via this BIM model, all project participants have access to all information - at any time and from any location. BIM thus enables a holistic view of almost all phases in the project lifecycle. The innovative method is used both in the construction industry for construction planning and execution as well as in facility management.
