A successful combination of old and new: In Behringersdorf, a district of Schwaig, a new office building was constructed for the KS*, the sand-lime brick company Zapf Daigfuss.With planning skill, a modern and representative building was realized, which confidently fulfills its function as an office and event center and at the same time demonstrates how versatile sand-lime brick is as a high-quality building material and shows impressive design elements.

In terms of a pleasant indoor climate, the clients also attached great importance to sustainable materials and forward-looking technology: Above all, the completely glazed south side called for an innovative idea. The solution: a linked combination of ventilation, cooling and sustainable groundwater technology. "We use water that has been used in the production of the company to heat or cool," says the architect. "This gives us cost-free energy, with no drafts and no noise."
