Vorklinik Graz
BauKarussell 2023 was commissioned with the demolition of the former pre-clinic in Graz over a period of seven months. Between February and August, the university building was prepared for demolition on behalf of the Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft, with a focus on the highest possible reuse and recycling rate.
Together with the social economy partners, Soziale Arbeit Steiermark (SASt) and bfi Steiermark, a considerable amount of material was moved: in a total of 4,404 hours of work, over 140 tonnes were manually dismantled and left the building. Of this, 82.5 tonnes were handed over to a regional waste disposal company and 40.9 tonnes, including copper pipes and stainless steel elements, were sent directly for recycling.
The new Graz Centre of Physics, which is being built by the Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft on behalf of the University of Graz and Graz University of Technology, will replace the pre-clinic building.
