The "Landesinnung Bau", as the building owner, has constructed a model project in Graz: 22 residential units with a size of 35 to 60 square meters offer top modern living. In the construction, the client relies on state-of-the-art technology. The entire building is thermal-activated and contains heating and cooling elements to cool the concrete in summer and warm it in winter. But it's not only concrete that is used; brick, a historically proven building material, also plays a literally load-bearing role in the "Baumeisterhaus", as it is used for the outer walls.
A photovoltaic system is located on the entire roof area of around 450 m2 , the output of which is used, among other things, for heating water and roughly corresponds to the energy consumption in the building. Surplus energy is fed into the grid. Heating and cooling are provided geothermally by a heat pump, and proper insulation is provided by a ventilated plaster facade, which also ensures that the building is open to diffusion. In addition, the building has moisture-controlled ventilation, which means that conventional ventilation is supported to ensure regular air exchange, protect the building fabric and achieve good indoor air quality.
