The building "Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Construction and Transportation - South Building" extends the main building with additional office and meeting rooms.

Heating and cooling are provided by thermal component activation, which allows optimum use to be made of the storage capacity of the solid concrete structure. The heat demand is covered by the district heating network of the city of Munich. The cooling is realized by means of a surface absorber in the base plate of the building, whereby the cooling potential of the groundwater can be used. Controlled ventilation of all relevant occupied areas with highly efficient heat recovery on the other hand, combined with adiabatic cooling and state-of-the-art control technology, reduces energy requirements to a minimum while ensuring a high level of comfort for all user groups.

A photovoltaic system on the roof of the building, which is planned in accordance with the passive house standard, optimally supports the synergy effects here. (Text source: Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport)
