The new school blends harmoniously into the urban environment and offers an open school garden. The new building, which forms the main entrance, gives the complex a modern image and creates a variety of learning spaces. A two-storey assembly hall serves as the central entrance, complemented by a functional forecourt and a spacious assembly hall that opens onto the school garden. The old building remains largely unchanged, but is complemented by bright, friendly arcades and an optimised room structure. The extension consists of five staggered storeys in solid construction.

All rooms are ventilated and the supply air is preconditioned by geothermal probe heat exchangers. A PV system provides its own power supply, while a solar system supports the hot water preparation. External solar shading and night ventilation prevent overheating in summer. Suspended ceilings are minimised in order to use the ceilings as storage masses
