Wohnbau Leyserstrasse

The ‘Rosalie’ residential building in Penzing is part of a neighbourhood development at the Theodor Körner barracks. The barracks park was made accessible to the public, while residential buildings were erected on two sides. The buildings are not designed as a closed perimeter block, but vary in height and façade design in order to adapt to the surroundings.

Rosalie consists of two buildings: a low townhouse 20 metres high on Leyserstrasse, which blends into the existing surroundings, and an eleven-storey building behind it, which is set back from the street due to the trees. A green forecourt leads to the entrance. The foyer connects to a communal area and offers views of the park. The 115 flats are accessible via a staircase and a central corridor. A communal residential project is located on the sixth floor. Recycled concrete was used in accordance with the normative specifications.
