Anif elementary school

The Anif elementary school used 1,067 cubic meters of recycled concrete, which accounts for around 32% of the total in-situ concrete. The recycled content of the concrete supplied was 38 percent, which corresponds to the maximum permitted quantity.

A new elementary school with a gymnasium was built in Anif on behalf of the local authority and under the direction of Salzburg Wohnbau's construction management team. The project is characterized by a flexible and multifunctional room concept. A large, covered open-air deck extends the learning landscape and provides access to the green classroom and the outdoors for pupils and teachers.

The new elementary school building creates synergies with the kindergarten, the day nursery, the adjacent sports facilities and the future toddler group on the educational site. The assembly hall with reading stairs and the sports hall, including the grandstand, will be used jointly. The entire educational area will be designed without car traffic. All buildings on the educational site are heated in winter and cooled in summer by a groundwater heat pump in conjunction with a 100 kWp photovoltaic system.

In keeping with the motto 'we are building a new school from the old school', almost 32% recycled concrete from the existing building was reused in the new elementary school. The pure concrete demolition was separated from various impurities on site. A total of 3,065m³ of in-situ concrete (~7,356 tons) was used. Of this, 984m³ of RC concrete (~2,361.6 tons) was used. The use of RC concrete was cost-neutral, as there were no additional costs compared to conventional concrete.
