Primary school Hallwang
The compact structure is designed to clearly organize functions and spatial relationships. Due to the urban setting, the open areas of the kindergarten and the school are clearly separated. In order to accommodate the scale of the small children, a one-story, flat structure is placed opposite the kindergarten. Towards the southern street space, the school building appears as a two-story volume. To maximize the east-south-west oriented spaces, the elongated structure is clearly oriented to the south. The pedagogical units can be read on the facade.

Structural engineering: Lackner Egger
Through fluid spatial structures -cluster typology- in relation to the surrounding context and the relationships of interior and exterior space, the school becomes part of the site structure and follows the existing topography with its horizontal orientation. The clusters, which are consistently situated on the upper floor, are related to each other through sensitive offsetting, and the access structure is spatially expanded through the offsetting of the clusters and the formation of niches. A handicapped accessible development of the elementary school and the kindergarten are guaranteed.
The building structure is designed as a concrete core activated UG|EG with an attached constructive timber structure (timber frame construction with solid cross laminated timber elements). The compact construction form as well as corresponding superstructures and building services equipment enable the conception in plus energy technology.
