The residential complex "Blue Living Grödig" was planned in the context of sustainable development. During the design process, it was taken care to ensure that the building can be easily deconstructed at the end of its life cycle and that the materials can be reused. Great importance was attached to the highest quality of the building componentsThe exterior walls are of concrete sandwich construction and the interstitial space is insulated so that the insulation can continue to be used in the deconstruction (no conventional full thermal insulation). The building is conditioned by thermal activated concrete and can be heated and cooled with it. Part of the energy is generated by photovoltaics on the roof and added to an air heat pump. On the one hand, this ensures proper ventilation of the rooms, and on the other hand, it raises the efficiency of the heating system. Since copper is becoming an increasingly scarce resource and the wall construction does not allow for an installation level, the cabling is installed in the baseboards and the switches are designed as wireless digital switches. This benefits the living space on the one hand and copper consumption on the other. In order to store as much CO2 as possible in the buildingstructure and not to emit it into the environment, the partition walls are designed as easily recyclable straw walls. These can be recycled in the event of deconstruction. In order to make the best possible use of the increasingly scarce resource "land", the entire installations were concentrated in installation block elements.
