Villendorf - Ensemble am Steindl
At Bäckerberggasse 12, seven villas are being built with a total of 62 condominiums offering a unique view of the Danube and Göttweig Abbey. In addition to the excellent location, the project boasts a CO2-optimized energy and building concept with thermal component activation, photovoltaic systems and geothermal probes. Completion is planned for the third quarter of 2024.

Energy concept:
62
Heating, cooling and electricity in the 'Ensemble am Steindl' village are provided by a geothermal heat pump system with deep probes, a sophisticated building services concept with thermal component activation and air heat pumps as well as large-scale photovoltaic systems on the roofs. This means that the buildings can be operated with minimal use of fossil fuels and without additional heat being released into the environment. The innovative energy concept will enable future residents to enjoy significantly lower energy costs compared to conventional residential complexes. ÖGNI Gold certification is being sought for the sustainable residential complex.
In addition to the energy efficiency and the special view, the location of the project also offers added value for future residents. The barrier-free residential project at Bäckerberggasse 12 is only a 16-minute walk from the old town of Krems, despite its absolutely green and quiet location. In addition, all 64 apartments have generous open spaces.
Wind power on the construction site
Energy efficiency is already a top priority during the construction phase: After SÜBA installed micro wind turbines on a construction crane in Stockerau as part of its successful pilot project last spring, this innovative technology is now also being used in Krems. Eight micro wind turbines from the German manufacturer Mowea, a spin-off of the TU Berlin, with an output of up to 8,000 kilowatt hours per year, were installed on a construction crane to generate green electricity for the construction site of the 'Ensemble am Steindl' village.
