Hohe Warte
On the former presidential grounds near the meteorological station on Hohe Warte, five residential buildings have been created that seem to have settled like lemon butterflies in a paradise-like garden. Gerner Gerner Plus are responsible for their feather-light appearance.

The central elements of the approximately one-hectare site are not the buildings but the tree population, which was the focus of the planning from the very beginning. Between them, the architects arranged five structures so that each residential unit has no vis-à-vis, but instead an unobstructed view of the greenery. "Close your eyes and think of beautiful yellow lemon butterflies settled in a park and their lightness," is how the architects explain the design of the structures. Moreover, in close cooperation with the authorities, they managed to keep this image free of cars. These approach the underground garage system via a narrow tunnel, with strict care taken not to damage the roots of the trees. A total of 23 apartments between 110 and 260 square meters with spacious balconies and terraces were created.
An ecological building services concept with heat pumps and deep probes was planned, as well as building component activation for a pleasant temperature all year round. 50 deep probes, which were distributed over the entire property and carefully drilled into the ground past the roots of the trees, ensure that the five residential buildings on Hohe Warte can manage without fossil fuels and are heated and cooled exclusively by geothermal energy. E-car charging stations at each of the extra-wide underground parking spaces also represent a clear commitment to sustainability. During the construction of the buildings, emphasis was placed on the highest quality, both in terms of materials and workmanship.
